Rex Eugene Lacox, 81, was born November 4, 1927 in Nodaway, Iowa, to Emory and Ferris (Bricker) Lacox.
Rex attended the Nodaway Country School through the eighth grade. He farmed with his dad until 1952 when he was drafted into the Army and served in Korea for fifteen months. Rex returned from the service with an honorable discharge in 1954.
On September 16, 1962, he married Marjorie Farrens and they farmed north of Guss, Iowa for twenty-six years. They moved to Clarinda in 1986 when Rex retired. Rex spent a lot of time hunting and fishing. He enjoyed tinkering with vehicles and woodworking.
Rex passed away suddenly July 30, 2009 at the Clarinda Regional Health Center in Clarinda, Iowa.
Rex is survived by his loving wife Marjorie Lacox; children, Virginia Beason of Clarinda, Iowa, Dale Lacox of Clarinda, Iowa and Gail Lacox and his wife Georgiana of LeGrand, Iowa; grandchildren Jo Beason, Carrie Beason, Shawn Beason, Kylie Lacox, Cassidy Umbdenstock, and Hunter Umbdenstock; brother-in-law Paul Palmer of Mountain Home, Idaho.
He is preceded in death by his parents and sister, Mary Palmer.
