  The Sun (Lowell, MA) February 26, 2013 TOWNSEND -- Frances Jean Phillips York went to be with her Lord on February 15, 2013. She was born in Shirley, Maine, on August 19, 1938 to Robert Phillips and Beatrice (Mayo) Phillips. Fran graduated from Greenville (ME) High School and EMMC School of Nursing. After receiving her R.N. she married her high school sweetheart. They lived abroad and throughout the U.S. as a military family. Fran pursued her nursing career serving in many different locations and venues. During the last 14 years of her career, her nursing work required traveling many miles visiting patients in Middlesex County Massachusetts. Survivors include her husband of 53 years, Walter H. York, son, Douglas, both of Townsend, Massachusetts; her mother, Beatrice of Bangor, ME, brothers, Robert Phillips, Jr. and Elena, Stephen Phillips and Darlene; sisters, Cynthia and Buddy Gough, Jenny and John Mills, all of Maine.
