Sebec – Robert Sargent Dow, 92, passed away peacefully March 8, 2024, at Hibbard Nursing Home, Dover-Foxcroft.
He was born March 27, 1931, in Atkinson, the son of Elwin and Ruth (Sargent) Dow.
Bob loved all his family and his focus was always on how best to serve them and help them. He was an exemplary son, brother, husband, father, and friend. He was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many and varied capacities throughout the years. His loved occupation was as a dairy farmer. He farmed first with his father, Elwin from a very young age and later with his son, Zachary, until he retired. Farming was indeed a family operation. Over the years he raised many show animals from his excellent herd of registered Jerseys. After retiring from farming, he served a full-time mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints with his wife, Rosa-Lee.
Bob is survived by his wife, Rosa-Lee (Doore) Dow; two sons, Zachary Dow and wife, Ruth, and Randy Dow; step-sons, David Brown and wife, Debi, Robert Brown and wife, Ruthann, and William Brown and wife, Bonnie; step-daughter, Brenda Schultz and husband, Robert Stevens; grandchildren, Brandy, Claire, Taylor, Tucker, Dillon, Autumn, Ivy, and Chandler; step-grandchildren, Andrew, Valerie, Daho, Ian, Preston, Alison, Brandon, and Diane; great-grandchildren, River, Knox, India, and Zachary; brother, Albert Dow and wife, Heidi; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
He was predeceased by his parents; first wife, Marilyn; son, Robert Travis; and sister, Patricia.
