WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Jean Stinneford Wilmoth, 69, died on Nov. 5, 1998, at home, following a brief illness.
Born on July 13, 1929, in Hampton, to Leroy and Jessie Stinneford, Jean was a graduate of Hampton High School, Marion College and the Riverside School of Nursing. She resided in Winston-Salem, N.C., for the past 38 years. She volunteered at local service agencies, participated in the Old Town Women's Club and was treasurer of the circle at the Old Town Presbyterian Church.
She is survived by her husband, C. Walt Wilmoth, and her children, Dirk Wilmoth, and wife, Kathryn, Sharon Wilmoth, Wenda Clinard, and husband, Wake, and Janet Wilmoth, and husband, Brian Durkin; grandchildren, Jesse, Mila, Persis, Yancey, Cadence and Tyree Wilmoth, and Shelton, Maebre and Hayden Clinard; her sister, Barbara Sorenson, and husband, George; several nieces and nephews; and many loving friends.
She will be missed by all. She was predeceased by her sister, Peggy Ferrell.
