  The Virginian Pilot May 22, 2014 Barbara Rita (Brewer) Damon Virginia Beach - Died May 16, 2014. Born in Presque Isle, Maine, March 25, 1929, Barbara was daughter to George and Katherine (Williams) Brewer. She was a twin to Bernard, and they were the younger siblings of Doris, Kathleen (Kay), and Margaret Brewer. Barbara married Wallis E Damon on January 3, 1949. They had three sons, Wally Jr, Stevan (Gus), and Donny. Barbara moved with her commercial artist husband to many eastern locations as he painted billboards and signs, and she worked to obtain an education for Stevan, blinded at age 6 by a brain tumor. She was a fierce and protective mother who pushed her sons to fulfill their potential, and was proud and validated when they succeeded. Barbara is survived by her son, Wally and his wife, Kathy; son Donny; grandchildren Christopher, Stephen, Aaron, Ross, Andrew, and Caroline; as well as several nieces and nephews, all of whom she loved dearly. Her husband, Wally Sr. and son, Stevan, preceded her in death.
