Born in Beverly, he was the son of the late Edmund Maggiacomo and Helen Elizabeth (Lovett) Batchelder. He is survived by his son William Dean Maggiacomo, Jr.; daughter, Julie Maggiacomo Carrera; grandchildren, Chance Maggiacomo, Austin Carrera, and Alexandra Carrera; and brothers, Ed Maggiacomo and Michael Maggiacomo. William was an inventor, creating the Willie Filter in the 1970s. He also enjoyed politics and was involved in many local campaigns in Massachusetts. He later worked for the City of Beverly.
