SCHIEBER, DALE E., Of Galesburg
Dale passed away early Saturday morning, February 11, 2012 at Borgess Medical Center. He was born to Charles and Madge (Wells) Schieber on February 12, 1919, in Charleston Twp. Dale was a veteran of the United States Army serving during World War II from 1942-1946 earning the rank of Captain.
On October 4, 1943, he was united in marriage to Ardith Jones. In 1961,
Dale started the Schieber Insurance Co. in Galesburg, which he owned and operated until his retirement. After his retirement, Dale built and flew Ultralight airplanes for over a decade. He was a member of Galesburg United Methodist Church.
Surviving are his wife of 68 years, Ardith Schieber; their three children, Cynthia (William) Terry of Kalamazoo, Suzanne (William) Gates of Galesburg and Bradford (Robyn) Schieber of Kalamazoo; eight grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death were 2 brothers and 1 sister.
