Kenneth C. Sherman, 92, passed away at home on October 26, 2017. Born in Palmer on March 16, 1925, he was the son of Charles and Rena (Aherns) Sherman.
Ken grew up and was a lifelong resident of Palmer and studied Biology at AIC. During WWII, he proudly served in the Army Air Corps and was part of the Air Force Reserves for over 20 years and retired as Major. He was a registered land surveyor and civil engineer and owned and operated Kenneth C. Sherman, Land Surveyor, Civil Engineer in Palmer and was an active member of Malsce MA association of Land Surveyors and Civil Engineers. He was also the Town Engineer for Palmer and Monson. Ken was an avid cyclist and a member of Springfield Cyclonauts along with enjoying hiking in his leisure. Ken and his wife were very active and well known members of the Second Congregational Church. They enjoyed singing in the choir together for many years.
Kenny will be dearly missed by his wife of 65 years, Irene (Starsiak), along with his children, Christina Sherman of Eugene, OR, Kevin and his wife Julie of Brimfield, and Michael of Palmer. He also leaves his grandchildren, Melody Nunn of Eugene, OR, Dustin Sherman of Germany, Olivia Mabrey of N.Andover, and Jamie Sherman of Brimfield as well as a sister, Dorothy Nadolski of Palmer.
Ken was predeceased by his son, Kenneth, II, his granddaughter, Connie Sherman, and his sister, Ruth Bell.
