  Battle Creek Enquirer February 15, 2004 Carol Ann (Rogers) Collige, 63, of Bedford Township, died Saturday, February 14, 2004, surrounded by her family and friends present at Battle Creek Health System. She was born January 8, 1941, in Battle Creek, the daughter of Rex F. and Cleta R. (Lake) Rogers. Carol was a loving and caring owner of the Collige Adult Foster Care Home (in the village of Bedford) for twelve years, retiring in July of 2001, because of personal health reasons. For most of Carol's life she was a domestic engineer, wife and Mother. She married Joseph W. "Joe" Collige, Sr. on January 12, 1957, in Battle Creek. He preceded her in death on August 18, 1990. She is survived by two sons, Joseph W. and Becci M. Collige, Jr., and Joshua J. and Jessica Collige; she raised her grandson, Joel W. Collige as her own; granddaughters, Savannah M. Collige and Cheyanne M. Collige; grandsons, J. Jamie Collige, II and Tyler A. Collige all of Battle Creek. A very special nieces: Tami Duckworth of Kalamazoo and Ellen Meyer of Battle Creek; her caregiver, Catie A. Nash of Battle Creek; a brother, Rex Ford (Myra) Rogers of White Cloud, Michigan, and a sister, Barbara Way of Punta Gorda, Florida. She was preceded in death by her husband, her father in 1956, her mother in 1956; four brothers, Ronald Rogers, Robert Rogers, Douglas Rodgers, Earl Collins, and a sister, Thelma "Jody" Collins. Carol Ann had lived in the Battle Creek area all her life and had vacationed with her family for several years in Fort Myers, Florida. She received her education from the Bellevue Schools. She was a former member of Life In Christ Ministries. She enjoyed crocheting, ceramics, and various other crafts. Carol collected apples and angel figurines and was an avid reader of Harlequin romance books and reading her Bible. She was prayer partner with many people including, Ellen Meyer. She mainly was a devoted Grandmother and Mother and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She had a heart of gold, an infectious laugh with a terrific sense of humor. She was loyal and an excellent example for her boys and grandchildren and treated her daughters-in-law as part of the family. Burial will be at the Bedford Cemetery.
