Joe'' Heath, Sr., 80, of Wethersfield, beloved husband for 57 years of Marjory (Griswold) Heath, died Wednesday (January 17, 2001). A native of Hartford, he resided in Wethersfield for 75 years. Joe was a graduate of Nichols College, where he excelled in sports and was inducted into the Nichols College Sports Hall of Fame in 1988. He was an avid golfer and a member of the Wethersfield Country Club since 1951. Joe was a skilled craftsman and enjoyed furniture making. He loved Barbershop Quartet and sang for over 50 years. He was a member of The Sleepless Knights of Harmony Barbershop Quartet, and was a member of the Society for the Preservation and Encouragement of Barbershop Quarter Singing in America.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his sons, John L. Heath, Jr. and Jeffrey L. Heath, both of Wethersfield; his daughter and son-in-law, Lynn and Andrew McClaine of Lexington, MA; and his cherished grandchildren, Mandy and Les McClaine.
