Marjory G. Heath (Marge). Our Mom passed on May 11, 2016, peacefully asleep. She's off to see Dad and start her next adventure.
The daughter of Henry S. Griswold and Ruth C. Griswold, she resided in Wethersfield her entire life. Mom lived to the age of 95 and was fortunate to see the Red Sox win the World Series, not once, but three times. If the Sox or the UConn basketball teams were on TV, Mom caught every game. She also saw "the Girls" win their eleventh national championship.
Mom was employed as a desk attendant at the Wethersfield Public Library for over 40 years. She thoroughly enjoyed her co-workers, and pretty much knew every patron by name. It was near impossible to go anywhere with Mom that she didn't run into someone she knew through the Library. Mom was also a "Barbershop Widow", making sure the "Sleepless Knights of Harmony" outfits were clean and packed for the next show. When the annual Barbershop Quartet show was in Hartford, she and Dad always had a dinner party for the performing quartets before the show. There was always music in the house. Through the quartet, they discovered Alton Bay, NH where the quartet sang at the Alton Bay Jamboree. They vacationed on Lake Winnipesaukee from 1958 until 2000. Mom and Dad loved staying in "the Dollhouse" at Boulder Lodge.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband, John L. Heath Sr. and she missed him terribly.
Left to mourn her are her daughter and son-in-law, Lynn and Andrew McClaine of Lexington, MA; sons John L. Heath Jr. of Hartford and Jeffrey L. Heath of Wethersfield; her granddaughters, Amanda McClaine of Waltham, MA and Masala Maya Solinis of Wethersfield, CT; her grandson, Les McClaine and his wife, Crystal of Portland, OR and all her nephews and nieces, whom she loved dearly.
