  Cape Cod Times (Hyannis, MA) September 11, 1999 HYANNIS - Phinette (Stanley) Babbitt, 84, a former motel owner, died Thursday in Hyannis. She was the wife of Lewis Babbitt for 33 years. Born and educated in Lynn, Mrs. Babbitt built and ran the Cape Traveler Court Motel in West Yarmouth in 1953. She ran the motel for 31 years until retiring in 1984 after selling it. She then made South Yarmouth her home and wintered in Naples, Fla., for more than 30 years. Mrs. Babbitt was an active member of the South Yarmouth United Methodist Church. She loved needlepoint and playing cards and enjoyed the company of her family. Surviving are two sons, William Stanley of West Yarmouth and James Babbitt of New Jersey; a daughter, Patricia McDonald of North Carolina; a sister, Theresa Marquis of Yarmouthport; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
