  The Courier December 9, 1942 Newell Talbot Welch, son of Lewis and Belinda Talbot Welch, died December 5, 1942, at the Alger Nursing Home in Leonardsville, where he had been a patience since last April. Previous to that time he was confined to St. Elizabeth Hospital for several weeks. Mr. Welch was born in the town of Edmeston on November 13, 1893. When a young man he worked in the Phenix [sic] Kraft Plant in South Edmeston and later in the Remington Arms in Ilion. On June 30, 1920, he was married to Miss Maude Dresser, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Claude Dresser of this place, who survives him. In 1920 he and his brother, Murray, bought the farm known as the William Dye farm of their father. A few years later he bought his brother's share and has lived there ever since. He has been a member of the Seventh Day Baptist church in West Edmeston for several years. Besides his wife he leaves his father, Lewis Welch, and a sister, Vaxine Welch, of West Edmeston, a sister, Mrs. Clark Adams, of Unadilla, and a brother, Murray Welch, of Albany.
