Hayes Welch, 64, prominent dairy farmer, who for the past 20 years was justice of the peace in Edmeston, died at his home Jan. 24, 1941, after an illness of about one week.
A native of Edmeston, son of the late Charles and Emily Simmons Welch, he was married in 1896 to Angie Mayne.
He was deacon in the Baptist Church and for many years had been a member of the Baraca Sunday School class.
Besides his wife he is survived by two sons, Renwick of Edmeston and Rexford of Burlington Flats; a daughter, Mrs. Lawrence Houy, Middletown; three brothers, Bert, Blaine and Lewis, all of Leonardsville, and six grandchildren.
Burial was at Edmeston cemetery.
