Edmeston -- Mrs. Clarence A. Talbot, 49, Edmeston postmistress and a former school teacher, died unexpectedly at her home yesterday afternoon, Oct. 9, 1937, a victim of heart disease. Mrs. Carrie West was born July 5, 1868, on Taylor Hill, Edmeston, a daughter of the late Charles and Fannie Maria Wright West. Her childhood was spent in Burlington, NY, and she was educated in the Leonardsville High School and Brookfield Teachers' Training School, after which she taught for 17 years in schools in Burlington.
On May 24, 1898, she was married to Clarence A. Talbot, who survives with one son, Albert W. Talbot, and two grandchildren, Clarence W. and Ann, all of Burlington Flats; a sister, Mrs. M. C. Jenks and a brother, Frank West, both of Brookfield.
Mrs. Talbot was appointed postmistress of Edmeston Apr. 1, 1924, and served in that office up to the time of her death. She was a member of Edmeston Baptist Church.
