GALVA - Marjorie Robinson, 92, a resident at Kewanee Care Nursing Home, formerly of Galva, died at 5:13 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 18, 2007, at the home.
Burial will be in the Galva Cemetery.
Mrs. Robinson was born July 15, 1915, in Galva, the daughter of Ralph and Nell (Johnson) Talbot. She married Elwyn Dutch Robinson on June 16, 1935, in Princeton, Ill. He preceded her in death on April 14, 1976.
She is survived by four children, Peggy (Roger) Gray of Toulon, Ill., Bruce Robinson of Galva, Charles (Dee) Robinson of Bellingham, Wash., and Beth (Alan) Homandberg of Lake of the Ozarks, Mo.; seven grandchildren, Alan and Mike Gray, Brian, Jim and Amy Robinson, Dawn Gaes and Heather Homandberg; 10 great-grandchildren, Amanda, April and Abigal Gray, Riley and Daniel Robinson, Mike and Gabriel Gray, Taylor and Alysa Gaes and Nicole Visconti; and one great-great-granddaughter, Trinity Visconti. She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and a daughter-in-law, Sandi Robinson.
Mrs. Robinson was a 1933 graduate of Galva High School. She worked in her early years at the Galva Telephone Company and then at Pryer's Grocery Store. She then worked for 13 years as a secretary for the City of Galva. She was an 81-year member of the First Baptist Church in Galva. She was a Girl Scout leader and was a volunteer at the Galva Food Pantry. She enjoyed crocheting and reading and dearly loved her children and grandchildren.
