KEWANEE - Darlene J. Werderman, 84, of Kewanee, died at 11:07 a.m. Monday, Oct. 20, 2014, at Hillcrest Home in rural Geneseo.
She was born Oct. 31, 1929, in Cambridge, the daughter of Claude E. and Katherine M. (Koch) Talbot. She married Gene V. Werderman on Aug. 14, 1948, in Kewanee and he preceded her in death on May 24, 1995.
Survivors include four daughters, Dianna (Rodney) Loibl, Claudia (Bill) Croegaert, Kathy (Michael) Verkruyse and Carol (Michael) Perva; four sons, Gene (Diana), Philip (Kathy), Richard (Darlene) and John (Angela); 36 grandchildren; 54 great-grandchildren with two more due in a few months; one great-great grandchild; her brother, Franklin (Nyla) of St. Petersburg, Fla.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; four sisters; five brothers; a son, Bill in 2006; two grandchildren, Steven Croegaert and Julie Werderman in infancy; and two great-grandchildren, Mallory Metcaviz-Croegaert and Landyn Werderman in infancy.
Darlene really looked forward to, loved and adored spending time with all her family around, especially at Thanksgiving and Christmas; and dancing at each of her grandchildren's weddings. She also loved to read, collecting recipe books and camping.
