  The Peoria Journal Star June 28, 2005 KEWANEE - Dorothy L. Kenney, 83, of Kewanee died at 2:20 p.m. Saturday, June 25, 2005, at Kewanee Hospital. Born June 16, 1922, in Oxford Township, Henry county, to Donald and Mildred Hulstedt Stroud, she married Edwin D. Kenney on Sept. 4, 1940, in Davenport, Iowa. He died June 30, 1984. She also was preceded in death by three brothers, Marion Stroud, Alvin Wexell and Glen Wexell. Surviving are three sons, Dale of Phoenix, Dennis (and Cyndee) Kenney of Kewanee and Pat of Beloit, Wis.; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and five brothers, Everett Wexell of Colona, Kenneth Wexell of Bishop Hill, Chester Wexell of Orion, Laverne Wexell of Galva and Marvin Wexell of Cambridge. She worked at Pierces Restaurant, J.C. Penney, J and L Fabric, Carson's, Ellison's Bakery, Good's Furniture and the Dairy Queen in Kewanee, retiring in 2004 because of ill health. She was a member of Kewanee Senior Citizen Center, Women of the Moose and the Flemish American Club.
