  The Hartford Courant March 30, 2003 Margaret ''Peg'' Dunham Cornwell of Braintree, VT, formerly of Wethersfield, died Friday, (March 21, 2003) at home with her family after a brief illness. She was 100 yrs. six mos. old to the day. Peg had moved to Braintree, VT from Wethersfield 14 years ago to live with her daughter and son-in-law, Polly and Dr. John Porter and her grandson, Jeffrey Porter. Peg was born in Providence, RI on Sept 21, 1902, grew up in New Haven and graduated from Conn. College for Women, class of 1924. She married David Cornwell also of New Haven and eventually they settled in Wethersfield where they raised two daughters. Peg resided in Wethersfield for 55 years and she had many friends of all ages there. She was very involved with horses and was secretary of the Conn. Horse Show Assoc., CHSA for many years, was a founder and leader of the Winding Brook 4-H Club, a Girl Scout leader, and a member of the Community Players. She worked for many years as office manager at Pandolfe Floor Covering. In addition to her grandson, Jeff, Peg leaves two daughters, Polly Porter of Braintree, VT and Susan Mellen of Morris Township, NJ and her son-in-law, Dr. John Porter also of Braintree. She also leaves a niece, Ann Denison of Florida; and two nephews, Bill Denison of Florida and Peter Denison of Massachusetts.
