Rex Ford Rogers, III, 53, of Two Rivers, formerly of Bellevue, died Tuesday, February 24, 2004, at Fairbanks Memorial Hospital. Rex was born August 23, 1950, in Lansing, Michigan to Rex and Myra Rogers. He was graduate of Venice High School and Sarasota Technical College.
Rex moved to the North Pole in 1993, and in 2000, moved to Two Rivers. He had been employed at Summit Logistics, Alaska Railroad Corporation and was working at Fairbanks Memorial Hospital as an Electrician. He enjoyed hunting, archery, fishing, four-wheelers, gardening, painting and home improvement projects. His family said, "Rex left a lasting impression on everyone he met. His honesty, integrity and love of life and family will never be forgotten, he will be missed forever by the people he left behind".
He is survived by his wife, Candyce Rogers of Two Rivers, daughters, Tiffany (Daniel) Appleton of Holland, Michigan, Amie (Frank) Keirn of Wasilla, Alaska, grandchildren, Kristin Zachary and Tyler Appleton of Holland, parents, Rex and Myra Rogers of White Cloud, Michigan, sisters, Ellen (Bob) Meyer of Bellevue, Laura (Dennis) Lohr of Holland, brother, Klayton Rogers of Grandville, Michigan, many loving aunts and uncles, including Barbara Way of Florida, Carol Berhens of Florida, Hazel Rogers of Michigan, Bill Mead of Michigan, nieces and nephews, Robert Meyer, Lance Meyer, Leanne Meyer-Wilkes, Steve Meyer and many more family members and loved ones in Alaska, Michigan, Florida and throughout the United States, and his adopted Alaskan family, the Tormey's.
