  Post-Tribune (IN) November 1, 2008 Portage, Indiana Formerly Miller, Indiana William R. Babbitt, age 82, of Portage and formerly of Miller, passed away October 30, 2008. He was a retired mail carrier and a longtime member of St. Mary of the Lake Church in Miller. He was a WWII Army Air Force veteran. William was preceded in death by his sister Patricia, and brothers, Charles and John. He is survived by his wife Anna; son, William (Ruth) Babbitt, Jr. of California; daughter, Cher (Jim) Jones of Oklahoma, and Kathy (Paul) Ciminillo of Lake Station, IN; sister, Mildred Chadwick of Rhode Island; brother, Frank (Jo Ann) Babbitt of Florida; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
