Elizabeth Katherine (Pipkin) ''Bette'' Heath of Wethersfield, left this life on Thursday, (June 26, 2003) at Hartford Hospital. She was the only child of Frederick Pipkin and Katherine (Burns) Pipkin Mulcahy and stepdaughter of Thomas J. Mulcahy and was born in her great-grandmother's home on Cottage Grove Rd., in Bloomfield, April 16, 1926. She spent her youth in Newington, graduating from Newington High School with the class of 1944.
Following her marriage in 1945, she moved to Wethersfield, residing there until her passing. She held positions with the Newington and West Hartford Ration Boards, U.S. Veterans Administration and Keeney Manufacturing Co., in Newington. Following the birth of her children in Wethersfield she returned to the workplace after 14 years as a stay-at-home Mom joining Arthur A. Watson Realty Co. and ending her career at Arthur A. Watson Insurance Co., both in Wethersfield. She was a former President of the Wethersfield Junior Women's Club and co-chaired the Ladies Division for the 1955 I.C.O., now the G.H.O. She was active in the Wethersfield Creative Arts Council, Republican Town Committee, Trinity Episcopal Church and Wethersfield Country Club.
Besides her husband, William H. Heath, she leaves our son, Robert W. and his wife, Nan (Sherburne) Heath and their children, Rachel M. Heath-Wallace, her husband, Dr. Ken Wallace and their twins, Margaret and Nicholas in Swarthmore, PA and Matthew R. in Glens Falls, NY, Our son, David R. and his wife, Sue (Whitney) Heath and their sons, William and Parker in Hollis, NH; cousins of the Larson family of Connecticut and Florida, cousins of the Pipkin families of Berlin; her special caregiver, Cynthia Greenwood and many friends.
