  Oneonta Star December 27, 1954 Milford - Mrs Bertha Mae Price, 74, had a nice Christmas, She left her 60 acre chicken farm two miles north of Milford and drove to the of her daughter, Mrs. Clifford Ferris. About 8 p.m. she got into her car and drove away to call at C. P. McCollister home in Westville. Greetings and presents were exchanged, and some time around 10 p.m. the 74 year old woman again got into her car for the drive back to her farm. At 11:45 p.m., Walter Klugh of Delphi RD 2 was driving along route 183, about two miles northwest of Milford. He saw a car stopped on the highway with lights out and halted to investigate. Inside the car he saw the body of Mrs. Price slumped behind the wheel. He notified Oneonta State Police, and they summoned Dr. Mahlon C. Halleck of Worcester, a coroner. Dr. Halleck said the woman died of a corunary occlusion. That she appearantly felt the attack coming on, stopped her car and turned off the lights. She was within a mile of her farm, when her allotted time ran out. Mrs. Price was born Feb. 21, 1880, in the town of Middlfield, daughter of Lucius and Beette (Pratt) Kilts, and had lived in the Middlefield-Milford section all her life. Besides her daughter she is survived by a son, LeRoy Price of Durham, N.C.
