Yreka resident Mary Lou Fisher, 74, passed away suddenly Saturday, Jan. 15, 2005, at Fairchild Medical Center in Yreka. Known as "Lou," she was born May 27, 1930, in Kewanee, Ill., to Daniel and Myrtle Talbot.
She and her husband, Bob, moved to Yreka in 1973, from Long Beach. The couple owned and operated the Montgomery Wards store in Yreka from 1973 to 1985, when it closed.Lou was the founder of the Long Beach Bow Hunters Club, the first such club in California. She enjoyed spending time with her family. She also enjoyed cooking, entertaining and gardening. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother and grandmother.
She is survived by her husband, Bob, of Yreka; two children, Vikki Oliveira and Scott Taylor, both of Yreka; a sister, Thelma "Tootsie" Jones of Florida; a brother, Leslie "Jerry" Talbot of Nebraska; six grandchildren, Robert, Shana, Heather, Gabrielle, Andrew and Zachary and five great grandchildren, Tori, Triniti, Gabe, Brett and Gage. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Don and Bill and a sister, Jackie.
