  Newport Mercury August 28, 1841 Died At Portsmouth on Saturday last, Mr. Samuel Cory, aged 84 years, - He was a soldier of the Revolution, and is believed to to have been the last survivor of that gallant band, who on the 10th July 1777, accompanied Col. Barton in his expedition to Rhode Island, in which they surprised and captured Major General Prescott Commander in Chief of the British Army.
