  Newport Mercury and Weekly News Febhruary 7, 1936 Mrs.Ermine Ruggles, wife of the late Edward G. Ruggles, a resident of Portsmouth, died Wednesday at Manchester, Conn., where she was visiting. Mrs, Ruggles was born in Portsmouth, a daughter of the late Job and Lydia Sowle, and had lived for many years in the house on the West Main road where the the old mill, preserved and owned by the Newport Historical Society, is located. She was a mamber of the Driends' church from which the funeral will be held Saturday. Mrs. Ruggles is survived by a son, Clarence Ruggles, and a brother, William T. H. Sowle, of Portsmouth and three grandchildren.
