  Newport Mercury February 23, 1924 Mr. Clarence Edward Brown, who had been ill only a few days with pneumonia died on Sunday morning at his home on Quaker Hill. He was the only son of the late Edward P. Brown and his wife, Josephine Brown, and was in his fifty-second year. He married Miss Harriet D. Cory when a young man. Mr. Brown was born in this town, and has resided here all his life. He is survived by his widow and his mother, Mrs. JHosephine Brown. The funeral was held on Wednesday at his late home at 2 p.m.
