Edward Clyde Durfee was born November 23, 1917. Raised as a Quaker in his early life, Ed did not know Jesus Christ as his Savior. Ed learned about Jesus during his time in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, where he and his wife Ruth lived next door to the family of the Rev. Richard Musser. Ed was baptized by Pastor Musser on May 1, 1955 and was confirmed in the faith on June 6, 1955. He was called to his heavenly home on October 5, 2014.
During his life, Ed was a successful business man involved in the manufacturing of parts for the automotive and aerospace industries. He is preceded in death by his first wife, Ruth. Ed then married Lois Musser, the widow of Pastor Musser, on May 4, 1991. Ed was the father of Karen (Doug) DeHart, and Ken (Nellie) Durfee; and stepfather of Linda (Robert) Jordan, Janis Musser, Kevin (Keen) Musser, and Paul (Tammy) Musser. He is survived by his wife, Lois, his children and stepchildren, and by many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Sharing his faith, Ed included this confession in his final notes: "All glory to God for the gift of eternal life given to me and all believers through Jesus Christ our God and Savior."
