  Newport Daily News April 24, 2008 ALBANY, N.Y. - Calvin Peckham, 77, formerly of Howland Avenue, Jamestown, RI passed away Saturday, April 19, 2008 at Albany Medical Center, Albany NY. Born in Newport, RI he was the son of Christopher Peckham and Elsie (Head) Ronchie. Mr. Peckham graduated from Rogers High School and received his Bachelor's degree from URI. He was a Navy Veteran serving in Wartime aboard the USS Coates a Destroyer Escort. He was stationed in Cuba for a while for part of his time. He received several medals including the National Defense Service Medal, and the China Service Medal. Mr. Peckham was a salesman at Macy's for many years in Albany, NY before retiring. He leaves a brother Bayne Peckham of Pawcatuck, CT; a nephew, Stuart Peckham of Pawcatuck, CT; and a niece, Robyn Szeligowski of Virginia Beach, VA. He was the father of the late Bradley Peckham.
