Louise May Sherman of Poulsbo died Dec. 21, 2003 in Poulsbo. She was 94. Sherman was born to Frank and Sarah L. (Thurber) May in Woonsockett, R.I. on March 28, 1909. She married George W.F. Sherman on June 2, 1934 in Newport, R.I.
Sherman graduated from nursing school in Newport, R.I. She worked as a homemaker until 1950 and then as a Registered Nurse for the Kitsap County Health Department for 22 years until her retirement in 1972. Sherman was a part of the Philanthropic Educational Organization (PEO) Gi Chapter and was also involved with family, friends and her community. She traveled extensively, including trips to Europe. She was a member of St. Paul?s Episcopal Church.
Sherman is survived by her daughters Nancy (Ed) Stebor of Bremerton and Shirley Sherman of Poulsbo, five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband George W.F. Sherman and parents Frank and Sarah L. (Thurber) May.
