  Newport Mercury and Weekly News October 16, 1970 Howard James Devlin, 64, of 36 Pond Ave., an aircraft electrician at Quonset Point Naval Air Station prior to his retirement in 1967, died yesterday at Newport Hospital after a long illness. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and of Newport Lodge of Elks. Mr. Devlin was born in Newport Dec. 23, 1905, son of William and Charlotte Sisson Devlin. He leaves a son, H. James Devlin Jr. of Newport; three sisters, Mrs. Michael Hussey and Mrs. Charlotte Sullivan of Newport and Mrs. William Strilzinger of Middletown; three brothers, Raymond D. Devlin of Middletown, Frank Devlin of Newport and Alfred Devlin of Carlisle, Pa. His wife was the late Mrs. Beatrice Hazard Devlin.
