Frank Bell, age 76, of Newport, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, November 7, 2005. Frank was a veteran, having served in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict. After graduating from the University of Florida in Gainesville, he worked for the National Forest Service before joining the National Park Service. The national parks where he was stationed were Grand Canyon, Mount Rainier, Big Bend, and Everglades National Parks. When Frank retired in 1989, he and his family moved to Newport, Tennessee. He then worked as a security guard for S & W Security at Sonoco.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest W. Bell, Sr. and Alice Mary Kennard Bell, Tampa, Florida.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 32 years, Susan Messerschmidt Bell; his daughter and son-in-law, Heather and David Klinger, Scottsdale, Arizona; daughter, Grace; and son, David; brother, Ernest Woodford "Woody" Bell, Jr., Langley, Washington; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Frank loved Jesus Christ with all his heart, soul, and strength and tried to live out God's Word in his daily life. He was kind and gracious to all he met, a great listener, and had many friends.He had a good sense of humor and an accommodating spirit. His family was very important to him, and he always spoke about them with affection and joy. He was active and loved in his church, Evergreen Presbyterian Church, Sevierville, where he will be deeply missed.
Inurnment of his cremains will be at a later date in Lakeview Cemetery, Madison, Wisconsin.
