  Barrington Times December 18, 2003 Isabelle (Arey) Hedly, 88, of West Main Road, Portsmouth, died Thursday, Dec. 11, 2003, at Rhode Island Hospital, Providence. She was the wife of the late Atwell C. Hedly. Born in Bucksport, Maine, she was a daughter of the late Herbert and Dora (Miles) Arey. She lived in Rhode Island for 71 years. A knitting instructor at Rogers High School in Newport before retiring, she had also worked as a waitress in the Officers' Club in Newport for 10 years, handling all of the admirals' functions. She was a member of the Newport Coin Club and the Portsmouth Evangelical Friends Church. She leaves a son, Atwell B. Hedly of Barrington; a sister, Gertrude Stephenson of Apple Valley, Calif; two grandsons, Jeffrey Hedly of Somerset and William Raposa of Smithfield; three great-grandchildren; and members of her extended family living in Warren. She was the mother of the late Judith L. Raposa, sister of the late Edith Atwood and grandmother of the late David Hedly.
