  The Blade (Toledo, OH) October 5, 2016 EBY Katherine "Kay" Katherine "Kay" Alice Hubbard Eby, 92, died peacefully and in the company of her family September 30, 2016, at Swan Creek Retirement Village. Katherine was a loving and quietly determined and supportive mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She is survived by daughter, Bonnie Ferguson; son, Steve (Terrie) Eby; grandchildren, Tami (Karl) Heiss, Eric (Phoebe) Royer, Heather Royer, Jno (Karen) Disch, Matt (Jen) Disch, Adrianne Eby, Kristen Eby; and 12 great-grandchildren. She believed in the value of education and worked for 35 years as a science educator and school administrator. She enjoyed reading, gardening, bird watching, and traveling. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Elston and Bud Hubbard; husband, Robert "Bob" Eby; daughter, Barbara "Barb" Disch; and great-grandchild, Amber Heiss.
