  The Daily Citizen (Dalton, GA) November 24, 2015 George Joyner, 89, of 1220 Broadrick Drive, Dalton, died peacefully in his sleep on Wed-nesday, Nov. 18, 2015. He was a graduate of Lenox High School, Lenox, Mass., and the GE Manufacturing Studies Program. He enlisted in the United States Marine Corps after graduation and served in the Pacific Theater, serving in the occupation forces in Nagasaki, Japan, serving from September 1945 until July 1946. He was employed by General Electric Co. for 36 years. He retired as a manufacturing engineer in 1984. He was active in Boy Scouts of America, having received the Silver Beaver award. He was also active in the Boys Club, having coached baseball and football. He was a charter member of Transfiguration Episcopal Church, serving as Senior and Junior Warden. He was past president of GEAA, a member of the GE Supervisory Club. He was a member of the Marine Corps League and American Legion. His hobbies were fishing, golf, square dancing and traveling. George is survived by his wife, Sarita "Bonnie." Survivors include a son, David (Pam) of Dalton; daughters, Deborah Dennemann (Mike) of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Gail Gresham (Jim) of Jacksonville, Fla.; 11 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
