  Berkshire Eagle March 16, 1973 LEE - John R. "Tom" Tyler Jr., 70, of 9 Laurel St. died this morning at Pittsfield General unit, BMC, after a long illness. A native of Northampton, he came to Lee as a child. He was employed as a linesman for 29 years by the Western Mass. Electric Co., until 1950. Later he worked at the former Lee Steam Laundry, retiring in 1961. Mr. Tyler was a communicant of St. Mary's Church. Survivors are his wife, the former Louise Joyner; a son Thomas R. Tyler of Pittsfield of Pittsfield; five daughters, Mrs. Chris Pereglou of Lenox Dale, Mrs. Albert Wellington of Roanoke, Va., Mrs. Glen Bentley of Powanal, Vt., and Mrs. Joyce Leydet and Mrs. Carlton Vreeland, both of Lenox Dale; two brothers, Charles Tyler of Savannah, Ga., and George Tyler of Brandon, Fla.; a sister, Mrs. Marion Stairs of Manchester, Conn.; twenty four grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Burial will be in St. Mary's cemetery.
