  Bucks County Courier Times December 8, 2016 Martha 'Marty' Barrett Huestis of New Hope, Pa. passed away at her home on Wednesday, Nov. 30, 2016. She was 91. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 63 years, Gerald Stephen Huestis, Capt. U.S. Navy Retired. Born in San Francisco on Dec. 29, 1924 and raised in Oakland, she was the child of James and Mignonne Barrett. She is survived by her brother, James Barrett, but preceded in death by her sister, Mignonne Marken. She is survived by her eight loving children, Cathleen Taro, Laura Huestis, Mary Mattison (Newt), Carolyn Jane Halloran (Bill), Nancy Huestis (Randy Stocker), Patricia Stetson (John), Stephen Huestis (Shelley) and Elizabeth Huestis. She is survived by 14 beloved grandchildren, Brian and Anna Taro, Barrett, Stephen and Elizabeth Mattison, Jane Huestis, James, Carolyn Mary, Thomas, Stephen and Matthew Stetson, Will, Dora and Tess Huestis; two great grandchildren, Lucy Nanez and Marina Mattison, and several nieces and nephews. Marty graduated from UC Berkley on the morning of June 23, 1945 and married Jerry later that same day. They lived, worked and raised their family in California, Washington, D.C., Virginia, Florida, Japan, Maryland, Germany and Pennsylvania. Marty stayed connected to all of her children and grandchildren throughout her life. She was a loving and caring mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was a longtime member of Trinity Episcopal Church, Solebury. She will be sorely missed by all her family and friends.
