  Spartanburg Herald and Herald Journal Obituaries, 1992 ELLERBE, MARY M., 85, Spartanburg, w/o Harry LaCoste Ellerbe, 12– 6– 92 B8 _____ Unknown newspaper Mary M. Ellerbe, 85, of 546 Norwood St., died Dec. 4, at Mary Black Memorial Hospital. A native of Spartanburg, she was the widow of Harry LaCoste Ellerbe and daughter of the late Michael R. and Nancy Mae Wright Macomson. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Spartanburg and the former operator of a private kindergarten at First Presbyterian Church and was instrumental in starting the kindergarten at Mary H. Wright Elementary School and in starting the Head Start programs in Spartanburg County. Survivors include one son, Harry L. Ellerbe of Charleston; one daughter, Nancy Ellerbe Page of Gastonia, N. C.; two brothers, Perry Thomas and Rhett Macomson, both of Shelby, N. C., Anne M. Rivers of Chesterfield; five grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.
