  The Louisville Daily Courier November 30, 1857 Murder and Mysterious Death of the Murderer - Harrison Mauzy, of Daviess county, Kentucky, a dissipated man, on the night of the the 19th, murdered his wife, by striking her with a piece of a rail, in a fit of frenzy. He was arrested for the crime an placed in the jail at Owensboro. On the night of the 24th inst., persons on the street heard cries of "murder." "help." &s., issuing from the jail, but did not investigate the matter. Next morning Mauzy was found speachless, and died in in a few hours. An examination of the body was made, and there seems no doubt from the marks of violence theron, that the unfortunate man came to his death by violent means.
