"Jack" was the youngest child born to George Edward Turkington, Jr., and Jennie Emiline Webb in Omaha, Nebraska.
He was raised, from about age four, by his aunt, Anna Belle Turkington, and grandmother, Isabel, in Rochelle, Illinois. Anna Belle was voted Man of The Year by the men of Rochelle in 1929.
"Jack" was a veteran of WWII, a Rotarian, farm manger, bank president, Sunday School teacer, Boy Scout leader and treasurer for the Boy Scouts and Camp Fire Girls.
"Jack" was the husband of Mary Margaret May, of Rochelle and father of Jaclyn Jill, Judith Ann, John Edward "Skip", and Thomas Scott Turkington.
