John L. “ Boogie ” Pearce Jr., 68, of Lake Charles, died at 2:20 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 19, 2006, in a local hospital. Mr. Pearce was a lifelong resident of Lake Charles. He served in the Marine Corps. He retired as a boilermaker, belonging to Boilermaker's Local 79. Mr. Pearce traveled the United States working and gathering many friends. He was also owner and operator of Pearce Marine Salvage and was a commercial diver for many years. He will be greatly remembered for his love of fishing and shrimping.
Survivors include two sons, Mark Kevin Pearce and wife Della and John Wylie Pearce and fiancee Julie Collins, all of Lake Charles; a devoted sister, Glenda Perron and husband Lebert of Lake Charles ; his loving mother, Sylvia Materne Pearce of Lake Charles; and three grandchildren, Forrest and Devin Pearce of Lake Charles and Caitlin Welch of Westlake .
He was preceded in death by his father, John Ludrick Pearce Sr .
