Omaha, May 17 - Governor Weaver will be asked to issue extradition papers for the return to Omaha of Mariano Maya, formerly of Omaha, now instructor of Spanish at Soldan high school, St. Louis, whi is charged with having stolen property worth $1,785 from the estate of his father-in-law, the Late George E. Turkington, Omaha attorney.
Maya was arrested in St. Louis, Friday on a fugitive complaint signed by the administrators of Tirkington's estate, his daughters, Mrs, Isabelle Brodersen and Mrs. Helen Rosencranz.
Their complaint, which isd held by Omaha police, charges that on the day of Turkington's death two months ago, Maya broke into Turkington's downtown office, pilferred the will and two diamond rings and later stole two shotguns from the home.
Then, it is alleged, he drove back to St. Louis.
Mrs. Brodersen says that $25,000 worth of Liberty Bonds which her father was believed to have kept in his office, have not been found.
She told the police that Maya wrote a letter to a friend in Omaha recently announcing that he had inherited $25,000 from the estate of his mother whom he said died in Spain.
