He was born in Minneapolis, MN Nov. 3, 1934. He was predeceased by his father, Dr. Robert F. McGandy; mother, Lela B. McGandy; and brother, Dr. Robert B. McGandy. He is survived by his children, Michael & wife Melanie, Michelle McGandy, Heather & husband Bob Bosley, and Peter McGandy; sister, Marilyn Ryerse & husband William, Edina, MN; and 6 grandchildren.
