INDEPENDENCE, Wis. (Special) - Otis Briggs, 63, died of a heart ailment at 11:20 p.m. Tuesday at Lutheran Hospital, La Crosse.
He had retired two years ago after being employed by the Trempealeau County highway dapartment for 34 years. He was a member of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows and Wisconsin Valley Riders and had been president of the county employes credit union for 17 years.
He married Luvina Winsand at Winona, Nov. 29, 1924.
Survivors are: His wife, two sons, James, Stoughton, Wis., and Vilas; two daughters, Mrs. LeZRoy (Audrey) Prenatt, La Crosse, and Mrs. Ted (Sandra) Wyman, Indianapolis; a brother, Sidney, Centerville, and three sisters, Mrs. Edna Cooke, Mrs. Florence Bringsofen, and Mrs. Marjorie Jelen, Independence.
