LIVONIA, Mich./BLAIR, Wis. — Billy "Buck" B. Briggs, 68, of Livonia and formerly of Blair died Wednesday, May 17, 2006, at his home surrounded by his family.
A native of Blair, he was born Jan. 18, 1938, to the late Almon and Luella (Elland) Briggs. A 1956 graduate of Blair High School and an Air Force veteran, he was an air traffic controller, having worked in Chicago and at Detroit Metro Airport. He retired in the spring of 2000 as a heavy equipment operator for the city of Livonia. Billy enjoyed hunting, fishing and all sports, especially NASCAR racing and the Green Bay Packers.
Survivors include his wife, Dee Briggs of Livonia; two sons, Billy Jr. (Leslie) and Michael Briggs, both of Livonia; three grandchildren, Jason, Alex and Savannah, all of Livonia; and two brothers, Duane Sam Briggs of Eau Claire, Wis., and Sun City, Ariz., and Tom Briggs of Frankfort, Ky.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert and Wes Briggs.
