WHITEHALL, Wis. — Charlotte Mae Berg, 83, of Whitehall died Monday, March 28, 2005, in her home. Charlotte was born May 10, 1921, in Melrose, Wis., to Charles and Hazel (Byrns) Dambach.
Charlotte was a graduate of Black River Falls High School. She married Alton E. "Tony" Berg on Dec. 15, 1940, in Decorah, Iowa. Tony preceded Charlotte in death July 11, 2003. Charlotte was a member of Our Saviour's Lutheran Church and the Moen-Hamilton VFW Post #8288 Auxiliary. Charlotte enjoyed the outdoors, gardening, crossword puzzles and playing cards. Her neighbor stated that spring was not here until Charlotte was outside trimming the bushes and trees.
Charlotte is survived by a daughter, Rebecca Taylor of Whitehall; two sons, Frederick (Patricia) Berg of Janesville, Wis., and Steven (Cyndi) Berg of Spring, Texas; three grandchildren, Lauri (Mike) Knapton and Aaron and Ashley Berg; a great-granddaughter, Kaitlyn Knapton; a brother, Douglas (Alvina) Dambach of Black River Falls, Wis.; two sisters, Dorothy Krapata of Black River Falls and Brenda (Kelly) Wackerbarth of La Crosse; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Charlotte was preceded in death by a grandson, Mark Alton Berg, and a sister, Janice Savage.
