  Leader - Telegram March 9, 2006 JANESVILLE — James M. Johnson, Sr., age 54, of 1322 E. Milwaukee St., died on Sunday, March 5, 2006, at home. He was born in Eau Claire, Wis., on April 6, 1951, the son of Lester and Ruth (Briggs) Johnson. He attended Eau Claire schools until he moved with his family to Janesville where he attended Marshall Middle School and Craig High School. James married Diane Buggs on April 13, 1994, in Janesville. He was a musician and his band was called 3's Company. He is survived by his wife, Diane, of Janesville; two daughters, Erica (Ray) Heberer and Candace (Rod) Beggs, both of Janesville; four sons, James (Donna) Johnson, Jr., Neal (Katie) Johnson, Marques Johnson and Dustin Johnson, all of Janesville; six grandchildren; mother, Ruth Briggs Johnson of Janesville; sister, Kathy (Mark) Steinmetz of Janesville; brother, Allen Johnson of Janesville; niece, Sarah Steinmetz; and life-long dog companion, Hallie. He was preceded in death by his father, Lester; and grandchild, Dakota D. Heberer. Interment will be in Milton Lawns Memorial Park.
