  Find-a-Grave Leona Mae Olson, 100, formerly from Osseo, died Saturday, at Oakwood Villa in Altoona. Leona was born September 19, 1907, in rural Whitehall to Henry and Elsie (Heath) Smith. Leona married James "Jim" Olson on February 3, 1927, in Strum. Together they farmed in the Town of Unity, Trempealeau County, and in the Town of Garfield, Jackson County. They moved to Osseo in 1975. Leona has been a resident of Oakwood Villa since 1999. Leona is survived by her daughter Joyce (Vic) Richards of Altoona; two granddaughters, Lynne (Phil) Brux of Eau Claire and Lori (Ken) Krouse of Wausau; four great grandchildren, Ryan Brooks, Erica (Shawn) Frey, Tara (Greg) Brown and Dane Krouse. Leona is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Leona was preceded in death by her husband Jim, on December 12, 1989; one brother Lyle Smith; three sisters, Edna Thompson, Genevieve Heath and Hazel Harcey.
