Galesville,Wis. - Harold Allen Heath, 75, passed away Monday, June 6, 2005, at Gundersen Lutheran MedicalCenter,La Crosse, after battling cancer.
He was born June 7, 1929, in Strum, Wis., to Kenneth and Julia (Nelson) Heath. In November 1968, he married Vivian Wadleigh in Las Vegas. She died Aug. 11, 2000.
Harold was a U.S. Army veteran, serving in Korea, Japan and Taiwan from 1948 to 1957. He was self-employed by Heath Whitewashing with his brother, Stanley. He later worked with the GalesvillePost Office for 28 years as a rural letter carrier and then worked with H&R Block. After that he opened his own tax service, H&V Tax Service, which he and his wife Vivian ran for 30 years. Upon retiring, Vivian and Harold enjoyed traveling with his brother, Stanley, and his wife, Darleen. The off-the-beaten- path museums and parks were a favorite destination of the foursome. Going to casinos with his sisters was another pastime. As a couple, Vivian and Harold often took in stray cats and dogs as a testament to their love for animals.
Survivors are two sisters, Mattie Lou (Larry) Thomason of La Crosse, Shirley Ann (Marvin) Heiller of Brownsville,Minn., and many nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife; two sisters, Doris and Mavis; and a brother, Stanley.
