Esther V. Barr, 97, of Mondovi, Wis., passed away Tuesday, June 29, 2004, at the American Lutheran Home in Mondovi.
She was born on February 23, 1907, in the town of Unity, Trempealeau county, Wis., to Archie and Margaret (Langerfield) Heath. She married Wilfred Burlingame on March 8, 1928. They were later divorced. She married Henry J. Weber on August 15, 1959, in Mondovi. He died on October 31, 1970. She married Francis Barr on December 10, 1977, in St. Charles, Minn. He died on January 14, 2001.
Esther was a nurse's aide at Buffalo Memorial Hospital and the American Lutheran Home, both in Mondovi, for many years. She was a member of Central Lutheran Church in Mondovi. She enjoyed music, gardening and travel.
She is survived by four children, Iris (Ralph) Baudendistel of Mondovi, Joan (Leroy) Heck of Mondovi, Archie (LaVonne) Burlingame of Altoona, and Sara Sessions Piotrowski of Mondovi; 18 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; eight stepchildren, Gordon Weber of Mondovi, Joan (George) Garlick of Mondovi, Betty Evans of Columbia, S.C., Connie (Ron) Soppa of Arcadia, Gloria (Dick) Snyder of Menomonie, John Weber of Eau Claire, Jane Steinmetz of Seattle, Wash., and William Weber of Lewiston, Mont.; step grandchildren; step great-grandchildren; step great-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Frank (Hilma) Heath of Strum, and Ralph (Arvilla) Heath of Burnsville, Minn.
She was preceded in death by her husbands; one son, Larry Burlingame; one great-grandson, Joshua Diedrich, two stepchildren, Wayne Barr and Maxine Fix; her parents; two brothers, Percy Heath and Chester Heath; two sisters, Ethel Heath and Alice Rice Toft.
